Research Director at RMS

Reputed as an excellent management school in teaching terms, over ten years ago RMS decided to become an institution focused on management research. Nowadays, with research at the heart of a professor’s duties, it is deemed a strategic activity at RMS, for the benefit of students, businesses and academic communities in management sciences.

We have set ourselves ambitious targets and equipped ourselves to be able to meet them, particularly by gradually instilling an institutional culture which promotes research through an effective motivational system and by recruiting internationally experienced research professors. Our challenge today is to move on from publications-oriented research to research aimed at making an impact on the academic and professional milieus.

As a general-curriculum school, the three types of research associated with our mission are important for RMS:
- academic research, aimed at producing new knowledge,
- applied research in response to the current challenges facing the business world,
- educational research, intended to enrich the content of lessons and programs and find new methods of teaching management.

Accordingly, our researchers’ work results in the creation of new concepts, models and relevant explanations, which contribute both to progressing management knowledge and to managerial practices. We endeavor to guarantee the precision of our research by submitting it to the very best French and international reviews and presenting it at the top academic and professional conferences and congresses.
We also seek to guarantee the relevance of our research by working closely with businesses, particularly through research and teaching chairs. This specific research approach, which has the intention of being useful to the business world and to society, is what makes it original and successful. Today we have four chairs in distribution, banking insurance, Champagne management and in the management of associations and the social economy, which generate around 1 million euros of budget every year.
