Dear colleagues ,
This is the autumn’s edition of “Research Echoes”, the RMS Research Newsletter whose purpose is to give you a review of the past year’s publications that will be further detailed in the Research Year Book, scheduled to be released in early November. It also focuses on our most recent publications successes and provides details on the school’s four research centres.
The research centre projects have been evaluated by the external members of the Scientific Committee and approved by the RMS Executive Committee. The four research centre coordinators, Adilson Borges, Steve Charters, Aurélien Rouquet and Frederic Nlemvo presented their projects to the Scientific Committee on October 12th and to the Executive Committee meeting on October 19th.
The beginning of this year was primarily devoted to two major issues:
The first was to attract more top level researchers to come and work at the school in collaboration with our research teams. The project objective is to encourage research exchanges with international colleagues with a view to confronting practices, transferring and transmitting the best international expert knowledge and methodology to RMS researchers, establishing the international reputation of RMS in Europe and the rest of the world.
Our visiting scholars’ programme is being finalized and will be available in the Faculty Handbook, once it has been approved by the RMS Executive Committee. We have already welcomed Maria Kniazeva, a marketing professor who works on issues related to authenticity. She was invited by Steve Charters and the Wine, Place and Value Research Centre, and will present her research to the marketing department on October 21st and to the entire faculty in a workshop on qualitative methods workshop on November 18th. The title of this seminar, which will be in English, is "Business Research: “Learning about What Numbers Will Not Explain”. You are all welcome!
The second issue is to provide more support to RMS researchers, thanks to changes in the role and objectives assigned to affiliate professors whose primary assignment will be to support RMS researchers. The success of this collaborative effort will, of course, depend on commitment from both sides.
I hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and I remind you that the entire Research team is at your disposal to answer your questions.
Svetlana Serdukov
Associate Dean Head of Research
