Les echos de la recherche
Winter 2011
EDITORIAL

Svetlana SerdukovDear colleagues,

The most significant event of the beginning of this year was the official launch of the four research centres, whose creation was announced in the last edition of “Les Echos de la Recherche”. RMS continues to innovate and to improve its structure so as to improve the visibility of research activities. Now, a voluntary think-tank of fifteen professors has been set up to further the development of research activities in the school. After the second meeting of discussion, analysis and the creation of different scenarios for future development, the group made some interesting proposals to strengthen our research policy. Other ideas are still under construction and will require further detailed study. This is important, difficult work, and I would like to thank the fifteen colleagues who took part in the discussion and who continue to participate, for their active involvement and their constructive ideas!

This issue contains a summary of the latest publications of academic articles and an in-depth look at two of our chairs, not forgetting two columns with a practical purpose: Good Research Practice and Research News. It also celebrates our colleague Catherine Kariotis, who has obtained authorization to supervise research. I hope this brief summary will encourage you to learn more about the various articles. Don’t forget that your comments and suggestions about this issue are always welcome to help us improve it. Enjoy your read!

Svetlana Serdukov
Associate Dean Head of Research
